What is age verification?
Age verification ensures that only people of legal age can purchase products on our website.
Why do we verify your age?
Under UK law, it is illegal to sell electronic cigarettes, or devices intended to deliver nicotine, to anyone under the age of 18.
How do we verify your age?
Using a seamless and unobtrusive system like Agechecked we use details you provide at checkout, like your name, address, and date of birth to quickly and efficiently confirm your age against a number of secure data sources.
What happens if the check fails?
On the rare occasion that the data you have provided can't be verified, a pop-up screen will be displayed asking for additional information like driving licence details etc. If we can't confirm your age with the details provided your order will not be processed and you will receive a notification to confirm that your order has been cancelled.
What other forms of identification do you use?
The initial data we use is your name, address, and DOB, If these details are insufficient to confirm your age we will ask for additional forms of identification like a Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard), a Mobile Telephone Number (if you have been age checked with your contract provider), and the Electoral Roll if you are registered.
How is my data being used?
Your personal data is not stored by Agechecked. They are an anonymised verification platform. They do not keep a record of personal details and do not track a person's activity. Your privacy and security are intrinsic to their system.
